I am a Telecomunications Engineer and Master on Computer Engineering and Networking. Now I work at the University of Granada (Spain), as a researcher in Biomedical Engineering and Signal Processing fields.

My professional website is at:

http://www.ugr.es/~fjesusmartinez/

I played the piano, keyboards and back vocals on the Creative Commons project Anima Adversa, from 2006 to 2014. I have also taken part on other projects, such as Adosados, Malas Yerbas and the Polyphonic Choir of Facultad de Ciencias (Granada). My major aim is to play every single instrument in the world -there’s a long way to go-.

I do web developing as a hobby, but with some interesting results. I like technology, gadgets, and particularly whatever device that has buttons and potentiometers.

Spherical Brain Mapping

Download the code in: Matlab | Python The Spherical Brain Mapping (SBM) is a framework intended to map the internal structures and features of the brain onto a 2D image that summarizes all this information, as described in [1] and previously presented in [2] and [3]. 3D brain imaging, such as MRI or PET produces a huge …

Significance Weighted Principal Component Analysis (SWPCA)

Significance Weighted Principal Component Analysis (SWPCA) is a technique (1) developed to parse out the influence of a categorical variable that introduces variability in a certain dataset. This was originally intended to remove acquisition site variance in neuroimaging databases. Download the code in: Python  Use To use the script to remove, navigate to the download dir, …

Research

Currently I am preparing my Doctoral Thesis centered in Information Technology, inside the interdisciplinary field of Computer Aided Diagnosis, Image-based diagnosis and Statistical and Digital Signal Processing. A provisional title for all this research is Computed Aided Diagnosis for the detection of Neurodegenerative Disorders using Medical Imaging.

During this period I have belonged to the Signal Processing and Biomedical Applications (SiPBA) research group, and I have written or contributed to several publications.

Education:

Telecommunications Engineer (2005-2010)
