Short Biography
Received his PhD degree at the University of La Laguna (IAC) in 1989 defending the thesis entitled “Abundances of CNO in unevolved stars: interpretation and consequences”. Held postdoctoral positions and extended research visits at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (with M. Arnould), University of Washington (with G. Wallerstein), University of Uppsala (with K. Eriksson), Centre d’Estudis Avançats de Blanes (with J. Isern), Osservatorio di Teramo (Italy), and Observatoire de la Côte d’Azur (France).
In 1995 he was elected professor titular at the University of Granada and later promoted for a full professorship in Astronomy and Astrophysics in 2009. His is currently leading the research group on stellar evolution and nucleosynthesis in the same university.
