The Institute of Mathematics of the University of Granada (IMAG) offers two junior (candidates with less than three years of research experience after PhD) and two senior (more than three years of research experience after PhD) postdoctoral research positions with open research topics.
These positions will be supported by IMAG Excellence Seal “María de Maeztu” with reference CEX2020-001105-M.

DESCRIPTION
Reference: IMAG 2022 Postdoctoral contracts
Duration: 24 months
Type of contract: Temporary postdoctoral contract
Gross salary:
Junior postdocs: 30,000 € / year
Senior postdocs: 35,000 € / year
Evaluation: Proposals will be evaluated by IMAG
Research topics: Open to all research fields in mathematics. Links to currently existing research areas of IMAG will be encouraged. The main research lines of IMAG include, but are not restricted, to the following:

  • Modelling and differential equations
  • Geometric and physical shapes
  • Linear and non-linear infinite-dimensional analysis
  • Statistics and operational research
  • Algebraic structures
  • REQUIREMENTS
    Applicants must hold a doctoral degree (mathematics, computer science, physics or related fields will be specially valued). Applications from candidates who are expected to obtain a PhD degree by July 2022 will also be accepted for the junior positions. For the senior modality, it is required that the date of obtaining the PhD degree be prior to December 31, 2018. The PhD title and academic certification must be issued or translated into Spanish or English.

    The applicant’s CV must reflect a promising research career, with good interpersonal skills; ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative research team; excellent skills to communicate research outcomes in written and spoken form. It will be especially valuable the intention of applying to international research funding calls (ERC and similar ones).

    HOW TO APPLY
    Applications must be digitally registered at the electronic office of the University of Granada, in the procedure: “Investigación: Contratos con cargo a Grupos, Proyectos y Convenios”, available here. This procedure will be mandatory for all persons in possession of a Spanish digital certificate.

    When submitting the documentation at the electronic office of the University of Granada, an official Spanish digital certificate will be required. If you do not have this digital certificate, a signed authorization (see below) is alternatively required so that IMAG staff can register your application. This authorization, along with the rest of the required documentation, must be sent to the email address imag@ugr.es, indicating in the subject field “IMAG 2022 – Junior/Senior Postdoctoral fellowships”.

    REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION

  • Application Form.
  • Full CV, in free format, including a complete publication list and ORCID identifier.
  • PhD accreditation, or failing that, a document justifying that the defense of the doctoral thesis will take place before July 31, 2022.
  • Title and brief description of the research project, including reasons for carrying it out at Granada, in free format (max. 2 pages).
  • Up to three reference letters. Candidates should arrange for these letters to be sent directly to imag@ugr.es by the persons who will provide the references. Reference letters will be accepted until April 8th, 2022.
  • Authorization (only for those who do not have a Spanish digital certificate).
