The Institute of Mathematics of the University of Granada (IMAG) offers support for the organization of scientific activities, open to all researchers associated to the institute, partially funded by IMAG’s Excellence Seal “María de Maeztu” with reference CEX2020-001105-M, funded by MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033/.

Possible support includes:

  1. A contribution to the funding of the activity
  2. The use of the research/staff facilities of IMAG

Type of activities and topics:
This call comprises all types of scientific activities in mathematics, statistics and related areas. Preference will be given to activities within the strategic research lines of the Institute. Examples of activities for which support may be requested include:

  • Thematic periods, conferences and workshops.
  • (Series of) Talks.
  • Public talks, dissemination/outreach activities.
  • Transfer-of-technology actions.
  • Projects for research in pairs/groups.

Evaluation:
Proposals will be evaluated by IMAG.

Selection criteria:

  • Suitability of the applicants to convene the activity (CV, list of their publications and/or knowledge transfer).
  • Scientific quality of the proposed event.
  • Benefits for different research groups of IMAG.
  • Potential for initiating follow-up research activities and/or developing future collaborative actions within the frame of the institute.
  • Scientific relevance of the invited participants.

Requirements and how to apply:

  1. Activities should take place preferably at IMAG.
  2. Applicants/organizers must include at least a researcher associated to IMAG.
  3. An application email should be submitted to imag@ugr.es with the following documents:
    • A pdf document in free format, including at least the following:
      • Title of the activity.
      • List of organizers.
      • Possible dates of the activity (applications should be submitted at least 6 months in advance).
      • Detailed description of the activity, with motivation, scientific objectives, and organization structure.
      • Tentative list of speakers/researchers involved.
      • Requested infrastructure.
      • Requested funds, with a breakdown of the budget. It is strongly recommended to diversify the funding sources beyond those at IMAG.
    • CV of the organizers (free format).

In case of support:

The activity should be clearly identified and publicited as partially supported by IMAG’s Excellence Seal “María de Maeztu” with reference CEX2020-001105-M, funded by MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033/.

In particular, it is mandatory the inclusion of its logo in any advertisements, posters, websites, abstracts, proceedings, etc. Additional support from other organizations could also be acknowledged.

A concise report of the scientific output of the activity, as well as a financial report on the workshop expenditure must be submitted within three months after the end of the event to imag@ugr.es.
