Process Chemometrics

Chemometric tools are paramount for gaining insight into industrial processes, which are complex to understand and troubleshoot, multifactorial and hard to control and optimize. Multivariate analysis helps us to make the most of historical databases in industry, commonly rich in volume but poor on useful information. Though we can design real time monitoring, control and optimization systems for industrial processes based on multivariate techniques, currently most real applications in industry are limited to exploratory data analyses on historical data. However, such an analysis can provide information on product variability, process consumption and devices malfunction, leading to increased revenues.

I am interested in the development of monitoring, estimation and optimization systems in both batch and continuous processes. I am especially interested in the connection between process chemometrics and networkmetrics.
