Description

One of the greatest masterpieces of Renaissance architecture from the XVI Century is Granada Cathedral, which was built on the grounds of the former Main Mosque.  When touring with our official guides and standing in front of the main façade of the Cathedral you will appreciate the majesty of this Renaissance building. It seems that time has stopped in this corner of the town. The tour will take you through the different periods of the Cathedral till the present day.

The Royal Chapel, attached to the Cathedral, equals it in beauty. This mausoleum has two sets of sepulchres made in pure white Carrara marble. This is where the Catholic Monarchs, Isabella and Ferdinand, as well as their daughter Joanna of Castile and her husband, are buried. Within the chapel you can admire the iron screen, one of the most outstanding pieces in Spain. The sacristy contains a small but impressive museum, with Isabella’s personal art collection.
