The deadline for submitting proposals is from October 15 to December 20, 2025.
A maximum of two proposals per author may be submitted related to any of the nine subject areas of Applied Linguistics: Language acquisition, Language teaching, Language for academic and professional purposes, Psycholinguistics, neurolinguistics, and clinical linguistics, Sociolinguistics, Pragmatics and discourse analysis, Computational linguistics, corpus linguistics, and natural language processing, Lexicology and lexicography, and Translation and interpreting. This link provides information on the objectives and approaches of each area, represented in AESLA by different scientific panels.
Please follow these instructions when submitting proposals:
- Files must be in OpenOffice or Microsoft Word format.
- Abstracts must be submitted using the following template in Spanish or English. Proposals that do not conform to this template will not be considered for evaluation.
- Authors must indicate whether they are submitting a proposal to be evaluated as an oral presentation or poster. This option can be found in the header of the template.
- The abstract must include the title of the presentation, and the text must explicitly state the objectives, methodology, results, and conclusions of the study. Proposals that do not follow this structure will not be evaluated.
- The title should be centered and located at the top of the abstract. The recommended font is Aptos (14 points). Only the first letter of the first word and the rest of the significant words (nouns, adjectives, verbs, and adverbs), as well as proper names, should be capitalized. Do not include a period at the end of the title.
- A maximum of 5 keywords should be included.
- The abstract should not exceed 400 words (excluding references, in APA style).
- The proposal should be submitted without personal details, following the template provided, for blind peer review. If necessary, a supplementary PDF file may be attached for the abstract if special characters are used.
- For posters, the specifications are as follows: portrait orientation and A3 size (29.7 x 42 cm).
