I’m currently Full Professor (Prof. Catedr\u00e1tico de Universidad) at the Dept. of Computer Science and AI, Universidad de Granada, Spain. I obtained a Computer Science degree (1998) from the Universidad Nacional de La Plata<\/a>, Argentina and a Phd (2002) from the Universidad de Granada<\/a>, Spain.<\/p>\n

Since 2025, I’m the Head of the Models of Decision and Optimization Research Group (MODO<\/a>), where we conduct research on the application of computational intelligence techniques for better solving problems in the current social and technological contexts.<\/p>\n

Among my areas of research are: optimization, automated decision-making and their cooperative versions, inverse problems and so on.<\/p>\n

I’m actively involved in research projects funded by different organizations (Spanish Government, Andalusian Government, etc.). I have published more than 65 journal papers, co-edited ten books and several  special issues on relevant journals. I’ve advised 14 Phd thesis and several master’s thesis.<\/p>\n
