José Luis Moreno Pestaña will give the lecture “Marx and the misappropriation of bodies” at the “Karl Marx 1818/2018” conferences. The event will take place at the Consello da Cultura Galega, in Santiago de Compostela, on November 14 at 5:00 p.m. You can also follow the intervention live on this link.
The “Karl Marx 1818/2018” conferences pretend to commemorate the bicentennial of the birth of this thinker of gigantic historical influence. With the privileged distance of time, with the legacy of the endless reworking and critique of his work by so many important figures, from Kautsky and Lenin to Gramsci and Lukács, from Korsch to Habermas or Harvey; after so many historical events that were claimed in his name, from the Russian Revolution to the Chinese or Cuban Revolution, to so many emancipatory movements throughout the world; after the empire of a single system was declared as the end of the history dominated by neoliberalism, and in the midst of one of the greatest economic crises that brought back the interest in the genius of Trier, it seems more appropriate, if possible, on the occasion of your anniversary, to address his thinking.
