Al final de la p\u00e1gina pod\u00e9is acceder al texto en Open Access.<\/p>\n<p>Se ha argumentado (y contraargumentado) que las personas m\u00e1s acomodadas del mundo tenemos el deber de aliviar la desigualdad y la pobreza. Algunos fil\u00f3sofos morales, como Peter Singer y Thomas Pogge, han elaborado argumentos de distinta naturaleza que formalizan ese deber. Ahora bien, \u00bfQu\u00e9 capacidad tienen esos argumentos de convencer a los individuos m\u00e1s ricos de que efectivamente existe ese deber? \u00bfQu\u00e9 capacidad tienen de generar cambios en su comportamiento en esa direcci\u00f3n?<\/p>\n<p>Se han ofrecido dos tipos principales de argumentos filos\u00f3ficos en apoyo de la afirmaci\u00f3n de que los ciudadanos de las sociedades ricas tienen el deber moral de ayudar a los pobres del mundo: argumentos basados en un \u00abdeber positivo\u00bb y vinculados a la noci\u00f3n de beneficencia y argumentos centrados en un \u00abdeber negativo\u00bb y vinculados a la noci\u00f3n de no interferencia. La formulaci\u00f3n del deber positivo realizada por Peter Singer (Singer 1972) y el argumento sobre el deber negativo formulado por Thomas Pogge (Pogge 2002) se encuentran entre los ejemplos m\u00e1s destacados. Los fil\u00f3sofos han hecho afirmaciones especulativas sobre la efectividad relativa de estos argumentos para promover actitudes y comportamientos que podr\u00edan conducir al alivio de la pobreza. En este art\u00edculo presentamos los resultados de dos estudios emp\u00edricos que eval\u00faan estas afirmaciones y sugieren que ambos tipos de argumentos tienen un efecto modesto en las actitudes y comportamientos de las personas con respecto a la pobreza global. En una r\u00e9plica del segundo estudio, el argumento del derecho negativo, en particular, tuvo un efecto estad\u00edsticamente significativo sobre las donaciones.
