A continuaci\u00f3n ten\u00e9is el t\u00edtulo y un resumen de su charla, que dio lugar a una interesante discusi\u00f3n sobre c\u00f3mo considerar la autoridad epist\u00e9mica de las personas afectadas a la hora de establecer definiciones y marcos normativos en situaciones de deliberaci\u00f3n p\u00fablica.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Normative definitions in the public sphere, political participation and authority in illocution<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In many cases, written norms (laws, regulations, policies, etc.) issued by a political authority define and so fix the meaning of certain terms that were already in use (for example, &#8216;violence against women&#8217;, &#8216;rare disease&#8217;, or &#8216;terrorism&#8217;.) The question arises who is entitled to participate in democratic political consultations oriented to formulate those norms. The notion of authoritative illocution (following Langton, 1993) can be fruitfully applied to the analysis of political deliberative processes of fixing a definition where entitlement to participate is related to the identities of the interlocutors.
