Seminario de Jóvenes Investigadores

Resumen: Systolic Geometry dates back to the late 1940s, with the work of Loewner and his student Pu. This branch of differential geometry received more attention after the seminal work of Gromov, where he proved his famous systolic inequality and introduced many important concepts. In this talk I will recall the notion of systole and present some sharp systolic inequalities for free boundary surfaces in 3-manifolds.
