LABORATORY OF INTELLIGENT HEALTH MONITORING OF CIVIL & HERITAGE INFRASTRUCTURE SYSTEMS

Mission

IMIS-Lab, directed by Prof. Enrique García Macías, conducts research on intelligent systems for the monitoring, diagnostics, and lifecycle management of civil and heritage infrastructure. The laboratory integrates advanced sensing technologies, robotics, smart materials, artificial intelligence, and digital engineering to develop innovative solutions for structural assessment, preventive maintenance, and infrastructure resilience. Through interdisciplinary research, IMIS-Lab aims to contribute to safer, more sustainable, adaptive, and climate-resilient built environments.
The laboratory is structured into three main research areas: Civil Engineering, Coastal Engineering, and Cultural Heritage, coordinated by Prof. Enrique García Macías, Prof. Pilar Díaz Carrasco, and Prof. Lourdes Carrillo Gutiérrez, respectively.
