María Luisa Calvache Quesada

Full Professor and Director of the Department of Geodynamics at the University of Granada. Her research focuses on coastal detrital aquifers, specifically in the mathematical modeling of groundwater (flow, transport, temperature, and age). She has also conducted modeling of surface water in relation to the interaction between surface water and groundwater. Additionally, she works on aquifer management and the behavior of the freshwater-saltwater interface.

Manuel López Chicano

Associate Professor at the University. His research topics focus on the hydrodynamic and hydrochemical behavior of karst aquifers, morphological and environmental aspects of karst terrains, the impact of visitors on tourist caves, the relationship between groundwater and surface water, and the hydrogeology and hydrochemistry of coastal aquifers.

Carlos Duque

Distinguished Researcher María Zambrano Senior. His research focuses on the interrelations between surface water and groundwater through the use of various tracers (temperature, stable isotopes, radon, hydraulic methods), the application of numerical models to simulate the functioning of aquifers, the study of submarine groundwater discharge, and advances in aquifer recharge management techniques from a hydrogeological perspective.

Ángela Blanco Coronas

Postdoctoral Researcher. Her research focuses on the effects of climatic events on the hydrodynamics of coastal aquifers, the interactions between surface water and groundwater, the application of numerical models for flow and heat transport, and the advancement of geophysical and hydrogeological techniques for studying the phenomena of submarine groundwater discharge.

Marta García Gámez

Predoctoral Researcher. She is developing her doctoral thesis within the framework of the project Advanced Control Techniques for Aquifer Recharge Management (ATEMAR), focusing on both fieldwork and the development of numerical models. Her research centers on the study of strategies for the controlled recharge of aquifers and the optimization of their management, with the goal of enhancing the understanding of hydrological behavior and ensuring greater sustainability of water resources.

Christian Montoro Paredes

Predoctoral Researcher. He is currently conducting research on managed aquifer recharge through the European international project MARSURE, part of the Water4All program, which aims to provide solutions for the management of freshwater resources in the face of climate change on a global scale. He has experience in conceptual and numerical modeling applied to projects on the management of the availability and quality of groundwater resources, as well as environmental impact analysis for the mining sector, public administration, and research.

Jensen Bautista

Predoctoral Researcher. His research areas include the integration of surface water and groundwater from both a hydrodynamic and management perspective. He also explores public perceptions to promote knowledge about water use and conservation, aimed at improving governance and the resilience of water resources in contexts of vulnerability and climate change. He has experience in project design and supervision in potable water, sanitation, and environmental management, prioritizing sustainability and the use of natural resources.

Rhaissa de Souza

Predoctoral Researcher. Her research focuses on the study of the behavior of chemical compounds in groundwater, their interaction with land use, analyzing the risks of these chemical compounds to human health, and groundwater remediation techniques.

Ehab Aldoury

Predoctoral Researcher. His research fields cover hydrology and water resources management, as well as surface-water groundwater interaction. He is interested in the impact of land use change and climate variability on groundwater recharge, and in integrated studies to complete the water budget in aquifers using hydrological models. He is the Head of Department at the Natural Resources Research Centre (NRRC), Tikrit University, Iraq.
