ABOUT

My name is Olivia Sanllorente and I am currently enjoying a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship at the University of Granada. The INSANE project aims to provide novel and useful information on how to reconcile urban development and nature conservation, particularly investigating the impact of urbanization on insect diversity and human-insect interactions.

I graduated in 2004 and obtained my PhD in 2010 at the University of Granada studying the population genetics and phylogeny of the slave-making ant Rossomyrmex minuchae. After that I got a postdoctoral position at the University of Jaén where I analysed the presence of transposons in several ant genomes and its coevolutionary implications. In 2015 I moved to the Netherlands with my family and stopped my research career. Now the Career Re-Start panel of the MSCA has given me a new opportunity to do research at the highest level. I hope I can be up to the expectations!
