Predoctoral student wanted!

We are looking for somebody aiming to apply for a FPU grant in the area of Urban Ecolog in the coming call (2021). The candidate should be a graduated in Biology or Environmental Sciences with a score of 8.5 or higher after January 1st 2018. He/She will engage with the INSANE project studying the effect of urbanization and urban landscape organization on human-nature interactions and urban biodiversity, taking insects as a model study. The project has a marked multidisciplinar approach combining urban ecology, entomology, genetics, social and computer sciences. The student will be set at the Zoology department of the University of Granada (Spain) but several field works and stays in other countries are foreseen. He/She must be fluent in English (B or higher level), have a driving licence, be interested in conservation biology and be motivated to learn in a multicultural/multidisciplinar environment.

The PhD thesis will be supervised by Dr. Juan Diego Ibáñez Alamo and Dr. Olivia Sanllorente Bolinches from the Animal Behaviour and Ecology research group of the University of Granada. The University is one of the best Spanish Universities and it’s in the world top 3%. It offers numerous prestigious courses for the predoctoral student as well as teaching opportunities at the Zoology department. The cultural context of UGR is highly diverse and international with many students from different nationalities (also in our research group). Similarly, the cultural and natural environment where the UGR is set is highly attractive, with many opportunities for personal development.
