Associate Professor

Her Story

Angeles Sánchez is married and is the mother of two daughters.

She has a PhD in Economics at the University of Granada (UGR) and Prize of Doctoral Thesis in Social Sciences at the UGR (1999). She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Economics at the UGR, where she teaches courses in the Degree of Economics, the Degree in Business Administration and Management, the Master’s Degree in Public Management and the Doctoral Program in Economic and Business Sciences. She is the director and lecturer of postgraduate courses and summer courses at the International University of Andalusia, Campus de Baeza (Jaén).

Angeles’ research interests focus on the study of how public policies could contribute to reducing economic inequalities and increasing people’s well-being. She belongs to the SEJ 393 Public Economy and Globalization Research Group. Angeles regularly participates in research and teaching conferences. She won the Prize of the Best Article at the Progressive Economy Forum, European Parliament (Brussels) in 2014. She has two national research complements (CNEAI) and five regional complements (research, teaching and management).

Angeles has done research stays at different European universities, the most recent being at National University of Ireland (Galway, Ireland) and at Parthenope University of Naples (Italy).

She is Associate Editor of the journal Studies of Applied Economics. She has been Guest Editor of special issues of Societies and Studies of Applied Economics. She is a reviewer of scientific articles in various JCR journals.
