El grupo de investigación ha desarrollado diversas investigaciones en ingeniería sísmica, tanto teóricas como prácticas, tales como estudio de efectos P-delta en la respuesta sísmica y formulación de la energía de degradación.
En este campo de investigación hay que destacar el EBPA (Energy Based Pushover Analysis):
“… Hernández-Montes et al. (2004) developed an energy-based pushover technique that overcomes the problems observed with reversals of the higher mode pushover curves that were observed in the application of the original MPA procedure in the ATC-55 studies.” FEMA440.
