Objectives
- To analyse relations between feminism, health, sexuality and healthcare system.
- To study the starting up of a family planning practice, in its different forms of organization by considering several types of family planning centres, networks and associations.
- To analyse the involvement and experience of both health professionals and female users, and the accessibility of birth control methods before its total legalization (1978 for most contraceptive methods, 1980 IUD).
- To study the formation of family planning as a medical field.
- To analyse social and medical discourses and practices concerning family planning from 1950 to 1980.
- To analyse the role of the contraceptive pill as a medicalization technology in Spain.
- To research the birth control experiences of women, either users or non-users of the family planning centres, such as the ways of acquiring contraceptives, decision making, perceptions of sexuality and knowledge of their bodies.
