The “Magic and Thought” Congress will be held at the University of Granada in two different scientific meetings, justified by the richness and breadth of the programme, as well as by the desire to delve into specific topics with a more detailed and dedicated approach. The first meeting will take place on April 24, 25 and 26 , and the second will be held 8 months later, between November 26 and 28.
The first call will be inaugurated in the Assembly Hall of the Faculty of Communication and Documentation, on Wednesday 24 April at 11h. Some presentations and the closing ceremony will also take place at the Faculty of Translation and Interpretation. The second edition, held 8 months later, follows the same structure. The two-phase format of the congress allows for more reflection on the topics discussed. Thus, the congress becomes not only a forum for exposition and debate, but also a focal point for preliminary conclusions and the formulation of the future study of magic.
The Congress will close on the evening of April 26th with a celebratory dinner for an additional fee at a restaurant in the nearby picturesque area of Granada.
The official languages of the Congress are Spanish and English.

CALL FOR CONTRIBUTIONS (PAPERS/POSTERS) /
Proposals for papers/posters on one of the Congress topics will be accepted until March 15, 2024. Please send your proposal and personal data using the submission form. The Program Committee will review the submissions, and decisions will be announced on the Congress website by March 30, 2024. The Full Program will be announced on April 1, 2024.
Presentations should last about 20 minutes, followed by a 5-minute discussion.

Participation fee: 95 €; Reduced fee for *Postgraduate (Master’s or Doctorate): 45 €; Participation online 45 €; *Students: 35€; Only assistance:0 euros.

CULTURAL PROGRAM
The organizing committee is planning a cultural program which will include a night visit to Alhambra.
Details will be announced on April 1, 2024.

TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATION:
Please make travel arrangements on your own.
Whether you need a visa for entry into Spain will depend on your country of citizenship. It will be the responsibility of each participant to acquire a visa if necessary.
HOTELS AND MEALS
The Organization will provide information about reservation service for hotels, hostels and apartments located near the Congress venue at reasonable prices ranging from 55 € to 150 € per person/night.
We also provide coffee and refreshments throughout the Congress days. Coffee and pastry will be served each morning at the venue. There are dining locations and cafeteria in the university buildings.

TENDRÁ LUGAR DEL 24 AL 26 DE ABRIL (MIÉRCOLES-VIERNES) DE 2024
EN LA UNIVERSIDAD DE GRANADA

El Congreso “Magia y Pensamiento” se celebrará en la Universidad de Granada de forma presencial/online en dos reuniones científicas distintas, justificadas por la riqueza y amplitud del programa, así como por el deseo de profundizar en temáticas específicas con un enfoque más detallado y dedicado. La primera convocatoria tendrá lugar los días 24, 25 y 26 de abril, y la segunda se realizará 8 meses después, entre los días 26, 27 y 28, de Noviembre.
La primera convocatoria se inaugurará en el Salón de Actos de la Facultad de Comunicación y Documentación, el miércoles 24 de abril a las 11h. Algunas presentaciones y el acto de clausura también tendrán lugar en la Facultad de Traducción e Interpretación. La segunda convocatoria, celebrada 8 meses después, sigue la misma estructura. El formato bifásico del congreso permite una mayor reflexión sobre los temas tratados. Así, el congreso no sólo se convierte en un foro de exposición y debate, sino también en un punto de seguimiento y evolución para los estudios sobre la magia.
Las lenguas oficiales del Congreso son el español y el inglés.

CONVOCATORIA DE CONTRIBUCIONES (COMUNICACIONES/POSTERS)
Se aceptarán propuestas de comunicaciones/posters sobre alguno de los temas del Congreso hasta el 15 de Marzo de 2024. Por favor, envíe su propuesta y datos personales utilizando el formulario de envío. El Comité del Programa revisará las propuestas y las decisiones se anunciarán en la página web del Congreso antes del 30 de marzo de 2024. El programa completo se anunciará el 1 de abril de 2024.
Las presentaciones deberán durar unos 20 minutos, seguidas de un debate de 5 minutos.

VIAJE Y ALOJAMIENTO
Le rogamos que organice su viaje por su cuenta. La necesidad de visado para entrar en
España dependerá de su país de nacionalidad. Será responsabilidad de cada participante
adquirir un visado en caso necesario.
HOTELES Y COMIDAS
La Organización proporcionará información sobre el servicio de reserva de hoteles,
hostales y apartamentos situados cerca de la sede del Congreso a precios razonables que
oscilan entre 55 y 150 euros por persona y noche. También proporcionaremos café y
refrescos durante todos los días del Congreso. Todas las mañanas se servirá café y bollería
en la sede. Hay comedores y cafeterías en los edificios de la universidad.
