9th European Congress of Mathematics

The quadrennial Congress of the European Mathematical Society is held in Seville (Spain) between 15 and 19 July 2024.

The European Mathematical Society (EMS) is a learned society for mathematicians throughout Europe. It promotes the development of all aspects of mathematics in Europe, in particular mathematical research, relations of mathematics to society, relations to European institutions, and mathematical education.

The European Congress of Mathematics (ECM) is organized by the EMS every four years and is the second largest event of mathematics in the world.

The ECM was first held in Paris in 1992 and has been organised since then every four years in differents parts of Europe: Budapest in 1996, Barcelona in 2000, Stockholm in 2004, Amsterdam in 2008, Krakow in 2012, Berlin in 2016 and Portorož in 2021 (initially planned for 2020, it had to be delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic).
