IMAG condena la invasión por parte de Rusia a Ucrania y el sufrimiento que está causando al pueblo ucraniano, a quien deseamos expresar nuestra solidaridad, en especial a la comunidad matemática. De igual forma, IMAG comparte el posicionamiento expresado por el Comité Español de Matemáticas (CEMaT), de cuyo Comité Ejecutivo IMAG forma parte. Por ello, nos remitimos al comunicado de CEMat y a los de la Unión Matemática Internacional (IMU), que pueden encontrarse más abajo. En lo que respecta al ICM 2022 y sus actividades correspondientes, la IMU ha decidido que éste se desarrolle de forma virtual y que las actividades presenciales asociadas se lleven a cabo fuera de territorio ruso.
El Comité Español de Matemáticas (CEMat) ha aprobado enviar a la Unión Matemática Internacional (IMU) y hacer público el comunicado que se puede descargar aquí (https://wpd.ugr.es/~imag/cms/wp-content/uploads/Statement_CEMAT.pdf), en relación con la situación creada por la invasión de Rusia sobre Ucrania y las implicaciones sobre el próximo ICM y la Asamblea General de IMU.
Posteriormente, la Unión Matemática Internacional hizo públicos sendos comunicados sobre el mismo tema, que se reproducen a continuación:

The IMU Executive Committee met on 24–26 February 2022, discussing the tragic events in Ukraine and their consequences for the ICM 2022 and IMU General Assembly.

Dear colleagues,
We have received a few questions regarding our statement communicated to the
Adhering Organizations in CL 5/2022.
The Executive Committee of the IMU wants to state the following:
1. The IMU General Assembly and the ICM will be conducted without any financial contribution from the Russian Government.
2. No official or representative of the Russian Government will be part of the organization or activities of the ICM.
3. All mathematicians are welcome to participate in the activities of the ICM.
4. ICM satellite conferences are and have always been outside the purview of the IMU.
