The Spanish-Portuguese Relativity Meeting 2018 (EREP’18), the main meeting of researchers working on all aspects of gravity and relativity in Portugal and Spain, will take place in Palencia (Spain) the days 4,5,6 and 7 of September 2018.
The 2018 edition is organized by the Institute of Theoretical Physics (IFT-UAM/CSIC, Madrid) and backed by the Sociedad Española de Gravitación y Relatividad (SEGRE) and by the Sociedade Portuguesa de Relatividade e Gravitação (SPRG).
In this edition we will have as invited speakers:
- Enrique Álvarez (U. Autónoma de Madrid/IFT-UAM/CSIC)
- Eric Bergshoeff (U. Groningen)
- J. Antonio Font (U. Valencia)
- M. Ángeles Pérez García (U. Salamanca)
- Harvey Reall (Cambridge U.)
- Ted Jacobson (U. Maryland)
- Sheila Rowan (U. Glasgow)
- Danièle Steer (U. Paris Diderot)
- Nicolas Yunes (U. Montana)
We are planning to have parallel sessions to give young researchers more opportunities to talk about their work and there will be a very interesting outreach program involving science and movies that will be announced soon.
A web page with the basic information on travel and accomodation is already up and working at
http://ramon.ift.uam-csic.es/erep2018
Registration and abstract submission will be open from May 15th to August 15th. Thanks to the generous contribution of the IFT’s Severo Ochoa grant, the registration fees will be quite modest. In the web page you will find some very reasonable offers to participants in this meeting. Furthermore, the SEGRE can provide some limited financial support you can apply for at registration.
WARNING: Notice that the first day of the meeting will coincide with a concert by an extremely popular singer with probably massive attendance, and it is likely that all hotel rooms in the city will get booked for the nights of the 3rd and 4th very soon. We strongly advise to make hotel reservations as soon as possible.
