2024 Call

The Institute of Mathematics of the University of Granada (IMAG) offers two postdoctoral research positions with directed research topics. These positions will be supported by IMAG Excellence Seal “María de Maeztu” with reference CEX2020-001105-M. This call has been published the 13th of May of 2024 in the BOJA (Boletín Oficial de la Junta de Andalucía) and in the web site of the Vicerrectorado de Investigación y Transferencia de la UGR.

Evaluation: Proposals will be evaluated by IMAG
Research topics: Open to the following research lines, one contract per line:

  • Modelling and differential equations
  • Statistics and operational research

    • REQUIREMENTS
    Applicants must hold a doctoral degree (mathematics, computer science, physics or related fields will be specially valued). The PhD thesis defense of the candidate must be after January 1st, 2020. Applications will also be accepted from candidates who are expected to obtain a PhD degree by September 30th, 2024.

    Candidates must have obtained their doctoral thesis from a university other than the University of Granada; or alternatively, candidates must not have had any contractual relationship with the University of Granada in the academic year 2023-2024.

    The applicant’s CV must reflect a promising research career, with good interpersonal skills; ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative research team; excellent skills to communicate research outcomes in written and spoken form. It will be especially valuable the intention of applying to international research funding calls (ERC and similar ones).

    HOW TO APPLY

        1. Persons in possession of a Spanish DNI/NIE must register their application digitally at the electronic registry of the University of Granada ( sede electrónica ), in the procedure: “Investigación: Contratos con cargo a Grupos, Proyectos y Convenios”. The deadline for applications is June 13, 2024.
        2. Persons who do not have a Spanish DNI/NIE may authorize IMAG to submit an application on their behalf through the electronic registry of the University of Granada. For this, applicants must send a signed authorization document (see last page) to the e-mail address imag@ugr.es, indicating in the subject field the reference “IMAG2024-Postdoctoral fellowships”, together with the documentation specified below. In order to give time to IMAG’s staff to register their application, the deadline in this case is June 10, 2024.

    REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION

    • Application Form
    • Full CV, in free format, including a complete publication list and ORCID identifier.
    • PhD accreditation, or failing that, a document justifying that the defense of the doctoral thesis will take place before September 30th, 2024.
    • Title and brief description of the research project, including reasons for carrying it out at Granada, in free format (max. 2 pages).
    • Two reference letters. Candidates should arrange for these letters to be sent directly to imag@ugr.es by the persons who will provide the references. Reference letters will be accepted until June 20, 2024.
