Título: A glimpse at the foundations of Geometric Measure Theory»

Abstract: 

Inspired by the reading of «Geometric Measure Theory» of H. Federer, we will devote this expository talk to some elementary concepts upon which modern measure theory is built, such as the notion of measurable set. We hope it will help us to appreciate how measure theory is a unifying subject, rooted in the very essence of mathematics and flourishing in its diverse areas. Finally, some appointments will be made on Federer’s scientific career and pedagogical contributions.
