Título: Some classical properties of minimal surfaces.
Conferenciante: Laurent Mazet (Université Paris-Est - Créteil)
Abstract: The aim of these lectures is to introduce some basic results concerning minimal surface theory. The lectures will focus to the theory in R^3 even if some of the results can be generalized to Riemannian manifolds and higher dimension. The main points will be : the first variation formula and the definition of minimal surfaces, the monotonicity formula, the second variation formula, the classification of stable minimal surfaces in R^3, the Bernstein theorem.
