Orthogonal polynomials on quadratic surfaces and domains.

Abstract: OPs on the unit sphere and the unit ball are well studied and provide essential tools for analysis over these domains. We discuss OPs on some other quadratic surfaces and the domains bounded by them (and hyperplane if necessary), such as conic, hyperbolic, and hyperparabolic surfaces of revolution. Our main results show that a substantial portion of the theory of OPs on the sphere/ball can
be established on quadratic surfaces and domains, including several applications in approximation theory and harmonic analysis.
