Título: On some minimization problems in \(\mathbb{R}^N\)

Abstract: I will present some recent refinements of the concentration-compactness and profile decomposition method, and I will explain how to use them to solve several minimization problems in \(\mathbb{R}^N\). In some cases we are able to obtain very easily qualitative properties of minimizers (such as symmetry and monotonicity), but in many situations these properties are still open questions.
