POSTER PDE MANS 2020

This is the page of the 2020 edition of the Workshop on PDEs: Modelling, Analysis and Numerical Simulation. The general topics of the workshop are applications of PDE, kinetic equations and population balance models. Talks will treat several recent areas of application of PDE, especially neuron dynamics, population models in biology, collective behaviour and kinetic theory, including their numerical analysis.
School on PDEs (January 8-10)
A School on PDEs will be held on January 8 -10 and will consist of four courses, each with 4 hours, given by:
- Ulrik Fjordholm (University of Oslo). Course about numerical schemes for the simulation of PDEs.
- Gero Friesecke (Technical University of Munich). Course title: Crystallization in classical particle systems.
- Eva Löcherbach (Université Paris 1). Course about stochastic models to describe neural networks.
- Sylvia Serfaty (NYU- COURANT). Course title: Mean field limits for Coulomb-type interactions.

- Maria Bruna. Excluded-volume and order in systems of Brownian needles.
- Àngel Calsina. On R0 for populations with continuous structure.
- Cristophe Chalons. High-order fully well-balanced Lagrange-Projection scheme for shallow water equations.
- Maurizio De Pittà. Mean-field analysis of history-dependent, stochastic activity in neuron-glial networks.
- Laurent Desvillettes. A chemotaxis model treated with duality methods.
- Antonio Esposito. Nonlocal-interaction equation on graphs.
- Josephine Evans. Quantitative Rates of Convergence to Equilibrium for equations with spatially degenerate jump rates.
- Simone Fagioli. Nonlinear diffusion equations with degenerate mobilities.
- Susely Figueroa Iglesias. Horizontal gene transfer: numerical comparison between stochastic and deterministic approaches.
- Pierre Gabriel. Irreducibility, aperiodicity, and coupling for a nonlocal population dynamics model.

- Francesco Vecil. Deterministic simulation of a nanoscaled DG-MOSFET on a GPU platform.
