Os presentamos el quinto y último vídeo de esta serie de divulgación.

La parte más importante de la investigación es devolver a la sociedad los resultados. Para ello, durante este año, gracias al proyecto FECYT “¿Cómo conviven varios idiomas en el cerebro? Transfiriendo la investigación desde el laboratorio a la sociedad”. (FCT-19-15358), hemos generado una agenda de actividades que han resultado muy útiles para conseguir nuestros objetivos y que compartimos en este vídeo.

El objetivo de este vídeo es mostrar, en su mayoría, la estrategia de divulgación que hemos llevado a cabo con poblaciones de diferentes edades y que nos han ayudado a transmitir la esencia de nuestra investigación así como los resultados más destacados y relevantes para la sociedad.

Presenting the fifth and last video in this dissemination series.

The most important part of research is communicating the results to society. To do so, this year thanks to the project funded by the Spanish Foundation of Science and Technology (FECYT) and the Ministry of Science and Innovation “How do languages co-exist in the brain? Relaying evidence from the laboratory to our society”. (FCT-19-15358), we created a useful activities agenda which we are going to share in this video.

The main goal of this video is to show the different dissemination strategies we employed with different aged populations and how we were able to transmit the essence of our research to those who are not regularly in contact with a scientific research environment, as well as highlight the main significance of our investigations for society.

El bilingüismo es una experiencia que nos genera cambios en diversos aspectos de nuestra vida. En este vídeo resumimos algunos ejemplos donde esto puede observarse. “Todo depende del idioma con el que se mire.”

Bilingualism is an experience that generates changes in various aspects of our lives. In this video we summarize some examples where this can be observed. “It all depends on the perspective of the language.”

El bilingüismo es un fenómeno en auge en nuestra sociedad. Las dudas que surgen en relación a este tema a veces están basadas en datos no científicos. En este vídeo pretendemos mostrar evidencias científicas que nos ayuden a desmontar ciertas ideas muy caladas dentro de nuestra sociedad. Desde Bilingualism Matters recomendamos la lectura de noticias y libros de divulgación basados en la ciencia para formar opiniones sólidas.

Bilingualism is a growing phenomenon in our society, and sometimes, the doubts related to this topic are based on data which is not scientific data. In this video we want to share some scientific evidence that helps us to debunk some incorrect ideas that permeate our society. Our organization Bilingualism Matters recommends reading news and dissemination books based on real scientific evidence in order to form solid opinions.

En este vídeo pretendemos acercar nuestro laboratorio y las técnicas que usamos en él a la sociedad. Experimentos, técnicas y aparatos de grabación del cerebro y la pupila nos permiten encontrar diferentes caras del bilingüismo a través de la investigación y nos ayudan a comprender mejor el cerebro bilingüe. Si te genera curiosidad cómo se ha llegado a las conclusiones y preguntas que presentamos en nuestro vídeo anterior no puedes perderte el segundo de nuestros vídeos.

Our objective with this video is to bring our lab and techniques closer to society. Experiments, techniques and recording devices (of the brain and the pupil) all allow us to discover the different faces of bilingualism through research and help us better comprehend the bilingual brain. Durante un total de 5 vídeos, que irán publicándose en nuestro canal de Youtube, abordaremos diversos temas que engloban el bilingüismo y cómo los estudiamos desde la neurociencia.

En este primer vídeo pretendemos generar una imagen global de lo que significa ser bilingüe dentro de la sociedad en que vivimos. Además generaremos diversas preguntas que invitarán a la reflexión y el debate. ¡No os lo perdáis!

In a total of 5 videos, which are going to be published in our Youtube channel, we will address different issues about bilingualism and how they are studied from a neuroscientific perspective in our research group.

In this first video our objective is to present a general overview on what it means to be bilingual inside our society. Moreover, we will raise different questions that will encourage reflexion and debate. You won’t want to miss it!
