Lanzamiento de nuestra sede // Branch Launch

El próximo día 23 de febrero la sede de la organización internacional Bilingualism Matters en Granada se complace en invitarles a su lanzamiento oficial.  El evento tendrá lugar en El Carmen de la Victoria (C/ Cuesta del Chapiz, 9) a las 17.00h.

El objetivo de esta organización es acercar la investigación sobre bilingüismo y aprendizaje de un segundo idioma a la población interesada en este tema (familias, educadores, bilingües, comunicadores, etc.), concienciar sobre los efectos beneficiosos del bilingüismo y poder promover escenarios bilingües integradores.

Para ello hemos creado este evento donde podremos darnos a conocer, crear proyectos en común y generar una red de información y colaboración entre diferentes sectores de la población.

En el acto intervendrán la directora del programa BM y profesora de la Universidad de Edimburgo, Antonella Sorace; la coordinadora de Bilingualism Matters UGR, Teresa Bajo; el profesor del departamento de Filologías Inglesa y Alemana, Cristóbal Lozano; la vicerrectora de Internacionalización, Dorothy Kelly; y la directora de Política Lingüística de la UGR, Carmen Caballero.

También participarán el profesor del departamento de Lengua Española y miembro de Granada Acoge, Marcin Sosinski; el profesor del departamento de Didáctica de la Lengua, José Luis Ortega; la responsable provincial de Plurilingüismo de la Delegación de Educación, Natividad Martínez Marín; el coordinador de Bilingüismo en el CPIFP Hurtado de Mendoza, Antonio Reyes Gómez; y Elin Wikman, un miembro de “Bilingualism in Family.”

The day is here! On the 23rd of February we formally invite you to the launch of Bilingualism Matters! The event will take place in the Carmen de la Victoria (Calle Cuesta del Chapiz, 9) in Granada at 5pm.

The objective of our organization is to bridge the gap between research and dissemination of information about second language learning to target audiences (families, educators, bilingual people, speakers, etc.). We want to bring awareness about the beneficial effects of bilingualism and be able to promote bilingual environments in our community.

With this goal in mind, we’ve created this event where we can meet members of the community who are interested in our platform. This way, we will have a network of connections between different sectors of the population for future projects and collaborations.

Who will be in attendance? First and foremost, director of the BM program and professor at the University of Edinburgh, Antonella Sorace; the coordinator of Bilingualism Matters UGR, Teresa Bajo; the professor of the Department of English and German Philology, Cristóbal Lozano; the vice-rector of Internationalization, Dorothy Kelly; and the director of Language Policy of the UGR, Carmen Caballero.
