Es un cuento sobre los sueños y la importancia de ponerse en marcha hacia ellos, más allá del resultado. Una historia que comienza así: Un día siete vacas azules decidieron ir a encontrarse con las estrellas y la luna…” No es fácil y lo saben. Pero lo intentan. Y su intención cuenta y tiene efecto. No sólo para ellas. Seven Blue Cows is the story about dreams and how important it is to set sail towards them, regardless of the outcome.
This story was created by Ana Aguilera and illustrated by Pablo Ferrer. In 2018 it was translated by Amanda Dale. The story begins when seven blue cows decide to go in search of the stars and the moon… This is no easy task, and they know it. But they try with all their heart, because that’s what matters. Este año la autora vuelve a lanzar un nuevo cuento bilingüe denominado Viajando en Cacahuete. The Great Peanut Mission, una historia sobre la importancia de los vínculos y la comunidad. Para financiarlo han lanzado, junto a la ilustradora Susana Vegas, una campaña de crowdfunding. La autora de ambos libros nos cuenta el motivo por el que ha decidido embarcarse en este proyecto:
This year the author is once again releasing a new bilingual story called Viajando en Cacahuete. The Great Peanut Mission. It tells a story about the importance of bonds and community. To finance the launch there is a crowdfunding campaign. The author of both books tells us why she decided to embark on this project:
Los cuentos bilingües son un regalo genial porque ofrecen la posibilidad de aprender palabras y expresiones en otro idioma casi sin darnos cuenta. En realidad son dos libros en uno y nos brindan la oportunidad de leer la misma historia con personas diferentes tal vez en inglés con nuestros padres y en castellano con la abuela. La traducción no es literal por lo que la historia en inglés no es exactamente la misma; esto es una riqueza. Al estar la traducción en la misma página podemos comparar y estimulamos la curiosidad natural de los peques. Son libros que viajan bien y podemos compartirlos con amigos o familiares de otras tierras… En definitiva, ¡innumerables razones para amar los libros bilingües!

Bilingual stories are a great gift because they offer the possibility of learning words and expressions in another language without even realizing it. They are really two books in one and give us the opportunity to read the same story with different people. Perhaps in English with our parents and in Spanish with grandma. The translation is not literal so the story in English is not exactly the same; this is a richness. The translations are on the same page, allowing us to compare the stories and stimulates the natural curiosity of the little ones. These are books that travel well and we can share them with friends or family in other lands… There are countless reasons to love bilingual books!
