Manuel Heras Escribano, a member of FiloLab-UGR, has published the article “The evolutionary role of affordances: ecological psychology, niche construction, and natural selection” in the journal Biology and Philosophy.

The article offers a theoretical framework that proposes that affordances play a key role in the evolution of cognition. This proposal is built on the analysis of the function of affordances in two key evolutionary mechanisms: natural selection and niche construction.
