Winner of the 1st Essay Prize SWIP-Analytic Spain

The evaluation committee of the 1st Essay Prize SWIP-Analytic Spain has decided that the winning work of this edition is “Moral responsibility for Climate Change ‘Loss and Damage’. A response to the Excusable Ignorance Objection”, by Laura García Portela (Karl-Franzens-Universität, Graz). The finalist is Marta Conti Lorenzo (Department of Philosophy, King’s College London) with the essay “Is Helen Longino’s Contextual Empiricism a Feminist Philosophy of Science?”.

The prize is awarded by SWIP-Analytic Spain, in collaboration with the Spanish Society for Analytic Philosophy (SEFA), the Spanish Society for Logic, Methodology and Philosophy of Science (SLMFCE), FiloLab-UGR and the journal Teorema. The aim is to promote the work of female analytic philosophers from Spain or living in Spain at the moment and pursuing postgraduate studies. The award consists of 600€ and the publication of the winning essay in the journal Teorema.
